Prenatal Support

This session is best for first time mothers and parents and typically lasts 90 minutes. During a prenatal consult we discuss your feeding goals, review your medical history, perform an assessment of breast/chest anatomy, address any potential breastfeeding/chestfeeding challenges that concern you, and discuss the normal course of breast/chest-feeding in the early days.

In home prenatal consultation insurance: Milk Connections Lactation Consulting has partnered with The Lactation Network (TLN), which provides insurance coverage for 6 visits (and sometimes more) with an IBCLC for new moms/parents and prenatal parents. They currently accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO, and Anthem PPO. There are some exceptions, but let’s see if we can get you covered. Lactation Support

Office/home visits usually last about 90 minutes and includes a thorough history, an observation and assessment of a nursing session, a weight check, a customized care plan including follow up visits, and reports to your health care provider(s). Our support doesn’t stop there. We continue to support you via telephone, text, and/or email in between visits.

Customized 24/7 Support

We offer customized lactation support and consulting when you need it most, getting through the night and when it can be the most challenging. We arrive to your home at an agreed upon customized time and for a customized number of hours or multiple nights, to help you gain the confidence and knowledge you need to feed your baby effectively and peacefully in any manner that works for your family (breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, etc.) This can be through the night and into the early morning hours, or whenever you feel you need support. We strive to serve families who want the highest level of customized, in-home support. We constantly seek updated, evidence-based information to educate & support our clients using current best practices that are biologically and developmentally appropriate for the overall well-being of your child. We value personal connection, collaboration, and empowerment that results in helping you become the parent you are meant to be. We will help you flourish in this new chapter of life to support you in your feeding goals, all while blending into your family dynamic. We partner with families and together create a customized care plan based on your needs, parenting style, goals and personality.

Schedule to attend Infant massage classes

Infant massage 5-class series starts February 3, 2024 and meets weekly for five weeks, ending March 2.  This class series costs $120.  By the end of the series, you and your baby will have a stronger bond through nurturing touch, you will learn evidenced-based massage techniques, and you will grow and learn alongside other new parents. 

This small class series is led by Michelle Fassell, a Certified Educator of Infant Massage or (CEIM).  You or a designated caregiver will be massaging your baby weekly for 5 weeks.  Plan to attend all five sessions for the most benefits.  You can reserve a space in our booking portal.

Sliding scale for self-pay clients

Sliding scale for self-pay clients (reduction in price) may be available if you or your partner(s) meet one of these qualifications: on WIC, on Medicaid, DOE teacher, unemployed, or essential worker. Please text or call us to request a sliding scale refund after booking.

Service Area & Travel Fee

Milk Connections serves the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles and the surrounding area. A travel fee may be charged on a case-by-case basis
